Now that we’ve introduced everyone and given you plenty of fabulous blogs to visit, let’s talk about the outfits! In case you’ve forgotten what the Fashion Files posts are about or if you’re a new reader, then you should know that these posts focus on highlighting some of the most popular trends of the season. In this Linky party, I’ve chosen to showcase a fabulously fun dark denim skirt from a new brand I discovered called Miss Selfridge. Denim on denim has been all the rage for the past few months and so has another aspect of rocking the classic favorite… The button down denim skirt.

In 2015, the denim mini skirt made a comeback. However, it took retailers a long time to get with the denim game. I recall stalking all my favorite stores as I looked for the love of my denim mini skirt life. And I loved it so much I highlighted the outfit I styled that day in a 24Hr adventure with Caribou Coffee. Well, guess which retailer was on top of things? My favorite new obsession… Shein.com. Fast forward a full year to 2016 and a new variation of the denim skirt has emerged. The fabulous thing about button down skirts is that they’re made to highlight almost every body shape. The fabric in the one I’ve chosen has a hint of spandex which makes the for both a comfy and flattering fit. The resulting look makes for a feminine look with a bit of street edge.
Since this skirt was made with dark denim (because black is my happy color) I chose to go with a floral pattern in the blouse to soften the look. I found one very similar to mine at Shein.com
. And I cannot tell you how much I adore this bag by Anne Klein! I found it at Ross and the price was insanely cheap. I’ve included a similar Anne Klein style in the shop the look section above.
With the variety found in this season’s denim trends, you can accessorize and try unique styles without ever worrying about running out of ideas.
