Using Themes to Decorate for Christmas

Christmas brings a certain type of unique joy that happens only once per year. For those of you who haven’t taken time to decorate then this last-minute theme suggestion guide will help you get in the mood and conquer the Christmas decoration block.

For those of you who’ve already enjoyed at least two weeks or more of time spent gawking at your gorgeous tree then this guide helps you understand exactly what type of mood you created if you’d like to run out and grab a few more last-minute items to add to the look.
Fairy Tree

Who can resist the lure and charm of the fairy tree? You know the one I’m talking about. These themes center around trees that are either filled with snow-covered branches or sport an all-White tree at the center of the design itself. Choose lots of pink and gold to truly bring out the essence of this tree. Think unicorns, elves, lace, feathers and magical owls when creating this design. I chose the fairy tree as my design this year and let me just tell you how much I LOVE the outcome. Here are a few snippets.

Country ornament theme

When I think of this theme, I’m always amazed by the cuteness associated with the design. Plaid covered outfits and decorative bows along with dolls that have rosy cheeks await the lover of this theme. Use garland made of cloth along with matching ornaments to provoke thoughts of a country ride through the snow on an early winter morning, the perfect way to set the mood for this look.

Go on a treasure hunt

Use elements of your culture to breathe a unique element into the theme. Christmas trees come in all sizes, shapes, and colors these days. You can easily create a design based on elements of your culture and have plenty of charm to spare.

DIY ornaments

My kids used to make an ornament each year. So when we pull out the green Christmas tree it’s time to add those cuties. Some of my friends also use anniversary ornaments and add elements of their lifetime achievements into the mix.

Ornaments that hold special meaning and create the perfect memento are always a great way to add that intimate touch to any holiday design.
