The Fashion Files… Blackout with a Splash of Pink

This week’s segment of the Fashion Files features a Lookbook collaboration between myself and a new brand called Dressin.com. Lately, I’ve been in a black clothing kind of mood as shown in the Milan Fashion Week Groupie post I shared with you a couple of weeks ago. Now don’t get me wrong. This doesn’t mean I’m depressed or anything like that. I just happen to think black does wonders for my confidence that other colors (with the exception of pink) just can’t touch.

Let me explain myself. When I wear a black outfit, I feel bold and daring and different. I just happens that way for me. And 2015 has thankfully seen a resurgence of interest in the color of designers and artsy folks all over the world. What is there not to love?

Having said all that, I’d like to present this week’s outfit. It’s a geisha inspired ensemble that will easily coordinate with my fall pieces. You can put a turtleneck on underneath this kimono inspired blouse and still look fashionable during any time of the year. The tee-shirt is by Jennifer Lopez. The fabric moves just as easily as the kimono blouse which is what I love so much about J-Lo’s line of clothing.

The pants are a pair of high-wasted skinny jeans by Express and really emphasize the trendiness of this outfit, in my humble opinion. If you’re not into skinny jeans, then a nice pair of barely boot shaped jeans would also work. Or, you can wear a comfy pair of stretch leggings. The possibilities are endless and I cannot wait to share the other two outfits I’m showcasing by the fabulous Dressin.com.
