A Fashion Story… Black Obsessions and Brown Boots

Two things sit at the top of my list of things I truly adore when it comes to fashion… a) shopping for thrifty deals and frugal steals and b) finding those goodies at an Express store. That’s exactly the way I wound up with this great pair of brown boots.

Half my closet is filled with Express goodies. I mean, we all have out favorites, don’t we? This outfit features one of the many steals I’ve found this season. And not only does the outfit cost less than a few three or four grande-sized vanilla frapuccinos from Starbucks, but it’s also SUPER comfy. The ability to take a simple sweatshirt and turn it into a headturner of an outfit says tons about a brand’s signature style. I guess this is why the Express has been around for over 20 years!

I’m wearing a cashmere sweatshirt (nope that’s not a typo) from Express and one of ten pairs of black leggings from Forever21. The boots are yet another super duperly steal I found at Sears for only $32.99. The bangles by Katie and Sophia were a thrifty deal I found at Burlington Coat Factory for only 6 bucks. Gotta love those frugal steals, right?

I’ve decided to go with an entirely new hairstyle for 2016. I’ve wanted to go all out with fringe/bangs or whatever you choose to call ’em for a couple of years now. My inspiration? Elsie Larson of A Beautiful Mess. At first, I wasn’t sure how I was going to like my new China girl hairdo.

But now, I wouldn’t trade my new do for anything. Compliments rolled in and I got the “you look mahvalous” blessing from my girlfriends. Life is so very fab.
