The Life Survival Checklist, June 2016
What can I say about June? For starters it was the month of getting sh** done for me. Seriously! I am super stoked about the things I accomplished, and it doesn’t even matter if there’s still 100 more things to do on that list! LoL
June was the perfect mid-year month for me this time around. We made progress with several of LiWBF’s creative spinoff ventures and have even made our first few sales in our new boutique StraightUpEve! WooHoo. What’s even better than planting these seeds? Watching them grow into beautiful plants of course!
Here we go!
1. Reading – Autobiographies and loving every single word. I’ve devoured the Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal guru) and learned some very vital life changing tips from that one. I’m tackling Sophia Amorosa’s book #GirlBoss one day at a time. She gives business advice and tips on becoming a girlboss or a #ladyboss in my case. Yet she does so in her own unconventional way, the same method she has used to create multi-million dollar empire. So, you may get it or you might find yourself totally lost on the ability to find her plan. Either way, the read is 100% worth your time. Others on my list… Juicy Couture and the story of Donna Karan. Guess we know where I’ll be all weekend. LOL
2. Writing – Still working on the last installment of the Lost Immortals Saga. Publication date TBD. I’m also working on an Interracial Romance series Love & Alliances that will be published under a pseudonym. Release dates are still tentative at this point as I refuse to push out anything half-baked to my readers.
3. LOVING – The Poshmark app and online selling-buying in general and life. Folks have found something they love about my brand and I am so very grateful as anything and everything I do is a spinoff of the message behind LiWBF… Be An Enigma. Design a Life You Love.
4. Wearing – A super comfy pair of Jones New York Jeans and a Kimachi Blue top I found during one of my latest ventures to restock StraightUpEve’s inventory.
5. Enjoying – A life that I’ve dreamed of designing for years now and especially the fact that I am now a vital part of the fashion industry, a place I’ve dreamt of being inside since I was a little girl. Also enjoying horseback riding again. So when I checked my inbox a few days ago and found my new set of pictures from Viktor Hanacek, I knew what the theme of this month’s Life Survival Checklist would be.
6. Preparing for the launch of the subscription box service we’ve worked hard to put together. The design and concept are almost finished. Think ancient royalty meets the modern world. This is a flower based subscription service, however, the difference will be the flowers will be a way to compliment the items showcased in the box. Think World Market meets the Super Cute series in a subscription service. Now comes the part where we find the artisans to supply the smell goodies and things. So if you or someone you know would like to be included then please contact kayleigh@theartsycraftgirl.com.
7. Watching – Everything that I’ve missed out on Syfy and USA during the last 8 years I’ve been without those two channels. What this means is that I get to watch my Outlander series without the need to wait for Vudu. If you haven’t started either the Outlander novels or the series then you need to do so now! You are missing out on some great romantic fun.
8. Excited about many things as always! We are now in the process of contacting vendors for our subscription boxes. If you’re in the business of artisanal crafts then please contact us through this email address: kayleigh@theartsycraftgirl.com so we can discuss partnerships and collaborations!
9. Mad about – Senseless violence and terrorism happening throughout the world. So much more can be accomplished though a kind word and a heartfelt talk. Unfortunately, too many folks choose to give in to negativity and power and greed and that’s truly sad. However, you can choose to be a smile warrior. Yeah, it might seem kinda small when compared to the events taking place around us, but I know from experience what kind of effect a single act of kindness can have on an entire organization. Make your choice today. I did.
10. Crushing on – The Instagram accounts of my tribe and all the pretty flowers I see on there. I am totally a garden girl and since I bought my house eleven years ago that obsession has only grown in size. Love! Also crushing on this photo pack from LiWBF’s unintentional photographer, Viktor Hanacek! You have him to thank for the beauty of the photos in this Life Survival Checklist.
That’s All Folks!
What are you up to this month?
