Top 12 Destinations on My

Global Travel Bucket List

As I begin this journey into adventures both domestic and abroad, I’ve decided to put together a bucket list of 12 places I find most inspirational. As Live Well Be Fabulous (LiWBF) continues to focus on modern-day, artistic style archaeological excavations, I felt that it was time to revamp this global travel bucket list to include the cities known for their tasty dishes and beautiful landscapes. However, there’s so much more to discover when we trudge the intriguing paths of art and history.

In this list, I show you some of the places LiWBF intends to go first.

Italy

The Mediterranean Muse would never have been born were it not for a love of Italy. Ripe with history and good food, Italy rides the top of my list. In 2019, I intend to spend 4 days in Terni and 5 days in Venice. Of course, I don’t plan on getting any sleep whatsoever.

New Orléans

Mardi Gras. The French Quarter. The haunted plantation home tours. New Orléans doesn’t find itself lacking in the attractions arena. As a southern blogger and mystery writer, I believe all persons of creative endeavors could benefit from exposing their muse to the crescent city.

Santa Fé

If I were to choose a place to call my third home (Italy would be my second choice) then Santa Fé wins hands down. The adobe style houses take us back in time and remind us of the rustic charm and historical intrigue found in Italian farmhouses. Southwestern design and culture create an art lover’s haven. Home to some 99 murals created by Chicano artists, Santa Fé becomes a work of living art and provides a fascinating experience that art lovers will enjoy long after the return home.

Egypt

The fascination with Cleopatra’s Egypt began sometime back in 1999 after I watched the movie Cleopatra, the one with Timothy Dalton and Leonor Varela. Egypt boasts an intriguing history that spans generations. From the allure of the untold stories hidden inside the history of the pyramids to the cities of pharaohs concealed beneath the sea, Egypt doesn’t disappoint the wanderlust starved.

Morocco

Which brings me to Morocco and Algeria, the last resting place of Cleopatra’s daughter, Selene and her husband, Juba. The colors and design schemes only begin to tip the level of interest in Morocco that so many have formed throughout the past decade. The exterior of my home is covered in a color called Moroccan Brown and let me just tell you about how much people totally adore its Mediterranean vibe.

Romania

The beauty of Romania’s landscape can’t be denied. Plus my sponsored child via World Vision lives in this country. It’s hard to explain how great it feels to be able to help a child in this way. Visiting his beautiful country and seeing the impact my support has on his community humbled me in such an indescribable way.

France

Of course, the home of the Eiffel Tower boasts a great deal of history. However just as its Italian neighbor does, France bursts at the seams with art and history, unique experiences that you need to see firsthand to fully grasp the impact.

Moscow, Russia

I’ve been intrigued by Moscow’s colorful cathedrals and robust history ever since I wrote my romantic suspense novel, the Finale, that took place in this historic city.

Australia

Colleen McCullough’s novel the Thorn Birds sparked a flame of interest in the Outback country, a heat wave that has been felt among the masses of ever since the book came out back in 1976. Mary Collins’ ranch Drogheda burst alive on the pages and the landscape became a living part of the forbidden romance between a Catholic priest, Ralph Debriccasart, and his young prodigy, Meggie Cleary. McCullough’s vivid descriptions of the life of a sheep rancher sparked a light of warmth in many hearts and put Australia on the maps of many nomads.

England

So many places to go and so very little time to do so. That’s the best way to describe England and the level of variation that’s presented by each one of its subdivisions and boroughs and royal cities. Like Italy, I’m certain that the exploration of England will take several revisits.

Spain

Our Mediterranean Muse visits Barcelona on a regular basis, however, I’ve yet to go. The music, food, and live entertainment make up only a few of the attractions this city offers. I’ve heard that the murals of Portugal’s Lisbon are some of the largest, most unforgettable works of artistic endeavors and I cannot wait to embark on this journey.

Greece

What can I say about my name’s country of origin? KaSonndra spelled with a K is actually a normal way to do so in Greece. Our Mediterranean Muse wrote an article about the appeal of the outlying Greek Islands a while back. That post continues to generate hundreds of repins on Pinterest. If you haven’t had a chance to read it then you can do so here.

While our Mediterranean stationed writers work hard to bring you the best guides on unique and unchartered territories such as the Greek Isles, I still experience a robust calling to explore these territories myself. Therefore, I’ve chosen to include Greece at the end of our list of intriguing destinations.

The tour ends here for now. I’m sure there’ll be more exciting additions to this list soon enough.
