The Ageless Fashionista Nine Ways to Wear Bright Scarves Like Classy Hollywood Ladies
There’s no question about it. The scarf trend rolled back into our fashionable lives like tiny lionesses of style. With so many ways to wear these gorgeous wardrobe staples, you can easily make a fashionable statement in so many traditional and not so traditional ways. I mean, the women of Hollywood knew what they were doing back in the day when this mysterious trend first stormed on the scene. Why can’t we bring a little of that timelessness into our lives today?
Even personas of royalty such as Queen Elizabeth wears a brightly colored scarf every so often. Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe took the head wrap paired with sunglasses trend to new levels. On the other side of the silk wrap spectrum, Josephine Baker turned her scarves into headwraps that she incorporated as stage props in her shows.
The latest rage on the fashion scene involves using scarves as a form of wearable art. Bright colors and designs that boast the ethnic intrigue of Ankara patterns and the flower child spirit of the bohemian rhapsody create new wardrobe staples that when used correctly adds a touch of classic Hollywood style to any outfit.
While there are countless ways to wear gorgeous silk wraps, we’re going to show nine of the most common ways to wear bright scarves so you can feel like a Hollywood legend.
1 Headwraps – When using a gorgeous scarf as a headwrap then one can’t help but conjure images of starlets and convertibles and long drives along the Malibu coastline. Wear this style when you visit the beach or just feel like taking a quick trip to the supermarket and don’t feel like rocking the fully made up face.
2 Necklaces – There are countless numbers of ways to pull this one off. Seriously. I’m going to make a video just to show this concept. Most styles consist of tying either a rectangular scarf around your neck and then adjusting the scarf to fall in several delicate ways around your shoulders.
3 Belts – Twist the scarf into a tight roll and loop through your favorite jeans. Get ready to receive tons of compliments about your uber cool style.
4 Skirt – This method consists of taking an oversized square scarf and folding it into a diagonal shape. Drape it across your waistline and tie the ends together. This method adds a touch of drama to any outfit and works especially well over black leggings.
5 Headband – I’ve worn scarves as headbands throughout my entire life. There are two main ways to create this look: the twist wrap headband and the wide style.
6 Bracelet – Say what? This trend took such a strong hold on the fashion scene years ago that you’re now able to find mini scarves that meant to be worn as bracelets in the packaging of your favorite watch company. A smaller scarf makes this trend easier to pull off. Some of my favorite boutiques even sell the petite style that’s needed for this look.
7 Handbag decor – Probably the easiest to pull off out of all the methods described in this article. Simply take a scarf and tie it around the loop of a handbag allowing the material to flow freely behind you. Be sure to choose a scarf that fits the size of your purse and get ready to feel like a princess.
8 Beach wrap – This method is probably the most complicated one to pull off. Honestly, it requires a video to best show the beauty of the scarf as a beach wrap.
9 Shawl – I work in a very cold building and this is the main way I wear my scarves throughout the year. You’ll want to have a mega-sized scarf to create the best effect with this method.
While there are hundreds of different ways to wear gorgeous scarves. I hope you find this list of ideas helpful.
