Ancient Egyptians. Powerful gods. Lost loves. And one badass warrior with wings.

Welcome to the beautiful land of ancient Egypt… only it may not stay so lovely for long. The chaos god, Set, plans to destroy the human world. Fortunately, the angel Xavier has the perfect plan to imprison Set and fast. Even better, Xavier can enact his scheme alone… which is just the way he likes it. No partners. No complications. No problems.

Suddenly, a gorgeous woman materializes. Calling herself Camilla, she declares she’s from the future. All of which is strange enough, but things soon go from bad to weird when Camilla announces that she and Xavier must work together—it’s the only way to defeat Set.

Wow, does Xavier ever hate thatidea.

The warrior angel decides on a strategic retreat. In other words, Xavier works to avoid Camilla at all costs. Turns out, that isn’t so easy. This mystery woman has set Xavier’s blood on fire in a way he’s never felt before. No matter how hard he tries, Xavier simply can’t desert her.

But is Camilla another element of Set’s destructive chaos magic… or is she Xavier’s only chance to save both himself and humanity?

Angelbound Archenemy Book – Character Play List

By Christina Bauer, Author

As part of the launch tour for my new book, ARCHENEMY (Angelbound Xavier #1), the lovely folks at the Live Well Be Fabulous blog have asked me to share a playlist with fave songs for the main characters. What a fun idea!

So, without further ado, here are the song picks!

Xavier’s Song – At Last by Etta James
Xavier is the protagonist of this book. He’s an angel who’s never felt love before a woman in red starts visiting his dreams. If I had to pick a fave song for Xav, it would have to be At Last by Etta James. This tune was released in 1960 and honestly, I don’t know a love song that can top it. Plus, I’m an old bat so I always go for the classics.

Camilla’s Song – Hold On, I’m Coming by Sam and Dave
Camilla is the love interest of this book. She’s also a badass who travels through time to enlist Xavier’s help and save the world. Since she’s such a proactive and strong character, I’d give her the song: Hold On, I’m Coming by Sam and Dave. You can’t listen to this song and not want to do something big.

Set – Chaos Song by the Hollywood Undead
In ancient Egypt, Set is the god of chaos. I’m giving him the song CHAOS by the Hollywood Undead because, of course, I am.

Osiris – I’m a Soul Man by Sam and Dave
In ancient Egypt, Osiris is the god of reincarnation. He’s also Xavier’s best friend. For this character, I’m going back to superb catalog of Sam and Dave with the classic song, I’m a Soul Man.

Horus – Disappointed by Public Image Limited
Back to ancient Egypt. Horus is Osiris’ son. When his father is killed by Set, Osiris imprisons Set under the Red Pyramid (in my version, anyway—the original story has Horus killing Set.) Unfortunately, Set doesn’t stay jailed. Therefore, I’m picking Disappointed by Public Image Limited… because Horus’ bad job at locked up Set was certainly a disappointment.

Sobek – Crocodile Rock by Elton John
Sobek is a fertility god from ancient Egypt. He plays a critical role in this book. I couldn’t resist including him, if only to add Crocodile Rock by Elton John because Sobek has a man’s body with the head of a–wait for it!– crocodile.

Isis – Wonder by Natalie Merchant
Last but not least, the book includes the character of Isis, the goddess of life and magic in ancient Egypt. Can Isis love any song other than Wonder by Natalie Merchant? I don’t think so.

Author Bio:

Christina Bauer thinks that fantasy books are like bacon: they just make life better. All of which is why she writes romance novels that feature demons, dragons, wizards, witches, elves, elementals, and a bunch of random stuff that she brainstorms while riding the Boston T. Oh, and she includes lots of humor and kick-ass chicks, too.

Christina graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School with BA’s in English along with Television, Radio, and Film Production. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband, son, and semi-insane golden retriever, Ruby.
