A Fashion Story Goodbye Summer Clothes
The beautiful summer of 2016 comes to an end this month. Can you believe that? I most certainly can’t. I’m not sure how you feel about the hastening of time, but I think the older I get the faster it all goes. Can I get a raised hand or two in agreement? Either way, I always find myself caught up in a bittersweet feud between feeling sad and getting excited because the end of summer marks the beginning of my favorite season… gorgeous fiery-hued fall.
With the arrival of fall comes the chance to think about the things we’ve enjoyed throughout the year and measure where we need to go by the end. At least that’s how it works for me. I either find myself thriving and bouncing happily along in my daily ventures or I’m caught up in some form of confusion which usually comes from the beast we know as disorganization.Unfortunately, this year leans toward the latter. I’ve taken on too many projects and have neglected to follow some of the tips I’ve learned about staying on top of an organized life and now I’ve got to regroup and find my balance before the confusion becomes chaos.
So what better way is there to kick back, relax and say farewell summer than to end with an outfit that offers one last nod to a trend that I’m certain will still be around in 2017 (A modified version of course)? Well, we started accepting summers demise last week when we introduced our new music series:
LiWBF Tunes: Farewell Summer.
Some of my good friends helped me pick tunes that they felt represented that perfect balance between the eternal party (summer’s trademark) and the deep thoughts of ventures to come (winter’s brand). Be sure and check out all the fab new artists we found. In this week’s Fashion Story segment, I’m wearing a combination of all my favorite brands.
Shop the Look:
2. Medium Rise Blue Wash Skinny Jeans – $68
Free People
3. Caged Heel Sandals –
Express $58 (Similar)
Although I’m not as huge of a fan of the cold shoulder look as some of my bloggerly friends, I still enjoyed wearing this cutie from Free People. I’ve had this shirt for a while and wanted to wear it at least once before summer vanished into our books of memories. I love the way it made me feel pretty and my confidence soared. The super light washed blue jeans also from Free People only added to the romantic intrigue of the outfit. I chose to go a bit larger in size to give the while outfit a modern boho type feel. Skinny jeans gave the outfit the necessary balance between loose and fitting.
I’ve enjoyed the summer of 2016, but am looking forward to fall and specifically, boot season. I have tons of black leggings with everything outfit ideas to share with you and can’t wait to get started. Until then, I’m going to enjoy this mode of easing out of summer’s embrace and will try and pull out a few other outfit staples that didn’t quite make the cut this summer but will actually turn into great transitional fall pieces.
